Sequiota Park is known for its distinctive natural landscape centered around Sequiota Spring and the limestone cave system that feeds it, features that have long drawn visitors to the area. The park property was acquired by the Springfield Park Board in the late 20th century to preserve the spring, cave, and surrounding woodland while providing public access to one of the region’s most unique natural sites. Over time, Sequiota has become an important gateway to the Galloway Creek Greenway, while the cave itself is recognized as habitat for the federally endangered Gray Bat, making the site both a recreational destination and an important conservation area.
